2021 Field Supervisors Retreat – SAVE THE DATE!

The annual MetroPower Field Supervisors Retreat will be held October 28-29 in Macon. This year we have invited Greg Sizemore, Vice President of Health, Safety, Environment and Workforce Development for Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), to discuss ABC’s Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP).

Founded in 1989 as a safety benchmarking and improvement tool, STEP has evolved into a world-class safety management system that dramatically improves safety performance among participants, regardless of company size or type of work. Participating ABC member firms measure their safety processes and policies on 25 key components through a detailed questionnaire with the goal of implementing or enhancing safety programs that reduce jobsite incidents.

MetroPower has received Platinum and Diamond level STEP awards for several years. Our vision is to create a safety culture that ensures ZERO accidents, so we must remain diligent and identify and remove hazards from the environments where we work.

The 2020 Field Supervisors retreat was cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, so the 2021 retreat will continue to focus on three key areas of improvement—people, processes and technology—while also encouraging camaraderie, peer group development and knowledge sharing among attendees. Field Supervisors are an integral part of MetroPower and are challenged every day to meet our high standards of operational excellence while focusing on safety, productivity and employee and customer satisfaction.
