Federal Division Grows Staff and Projects

Our Federal Division focuses on supporting the United States government and continues to grow with the addition of new team members and projects. Jeff Cohen is transitioning to a new role working with CarolinaPower and MetroPower’s federal groups in Columbus, Warner Robins, and the Florida Panhandle. Cohen will be procuring new work including design-build opportunities and training new engineers.

Several key projects for the Federal Division also were acquired recently, including:

  • Robins Air Force Base – Consolidated Mission Complex Phase 2 and Building 125 – High Bay Lighting
  • Ft. Benning – Building 399 and Building 5500
  • VA National Cemetery

“We are very excited about this opportunity and growth,” said Larry Christopher, Federal Division Manager, who oversees branch 4 and branch 12. “We are actively recruiting to ensure superior performance and support for our field forces.”

MetroPower Welcomes Federal Division New Hires

  • Ryan Johnson, Supervisor, branch 4

Ryan joined MetroPower in September with 16 years of experience in the construction industry. For eight years, he has specialized in government healthcare as a prime contractor for health clinics and hospital renovations with the Department of Defense.

As MetroPower’s branch 4 supervisor, Ryan will provide support to our federal team to help manage the current project backlog, develop new customers, and acquire work in new areas of the federal market, including geographic expansion in Florida and possibly North Carolina.

“I will be looking to acquire work for the benefit of MetroPower as a whole, regardless of branch location,” Ryan says, “and I hope to help increase opportunities for all branches that do federal work.”

  • Jonathan Peppers “Lo”, Field Supervisor, branch 4

Jonathan has been doing federal and commercial electrical work for more than 25 years. Jonathan is excited to join MetroPower to support our staff, recruit new talent, and continue the development of our branch 4 projects.

  • Dan Hudson, Project Manager and Estimator, branch 12

Dan comes to MetroPower with 25 years of experience. As the new project manager and estimator for branch 12, he will help manage the workload of our Federal Division at Fort Benning.

“We are fortunate to have Dan’s breadth and depth of experience in the industry and look forward to helping him grow and thrive in his new role at MetroPower, ” says Jason Crowson, branch 12 manager.
