Join the Women’s Resource Group

Are you looking for professional networking and educational opportunities? The PPC Women’s Resource Group is now accepting applications for membership!

Launched in October 2019, the Women’s Resource Group was created to recruit, support, retain, and develop the skills of women in our organization. A total of 39 members from all four PPC companies have been working together on committees to improve communication across our companies, to develop educational events, and to create an engaging and welcoming environment for women in our workplace.

The group is also paving the way for the next generation of women in construction! Through Mentoring a Girl in Construction (MAGIC), the Women’s Resource Group sponsored two camps where middle school and high school girls from Macon and Lawrenceville get a hands-on opportunity to learn about skilled trades.  The camps have been postponed to summer 2021 due to COVID-19, but this will be a great volunteer opportunity for UWPPC members.

Although the Women’s Resource Group is geared towards women, it is very important to have support from the men of PPC as well. Men are welcome to participate in meetings, provide feedback and offer suggestions for growing the group.

New members may participate in any of the following committees:

• Strategic planning group – provides leadership and direction to all committees and members and plans annual goals, quarterly business meetings and educational events

• Advancement group – manages current membership, recruits new members

• Communications group – creates the newsletter, assists with membership communication
