MetroPower Launches Branch 17: Centralized Professional Engineering Group (CPEG)

One of MetroPower’s founding principles is to create and deliver operational excellence while performing at a level superior to our competitors. With this principle as our guide, MetroPower has developed the Branch 17 Centralized Professional Engineering Group, which will allow us to offer more services to our clients at a competitive rate.

The landscape of the construction industry is rapidly changing. With increased competition from Engineering, Procurement and Construction firms (EPCs), the development of new technology, and clients wanting projects faster with a single point of contact, the commitment to professional engineering services is a natural fit for MetroPower and our clients.

Whether the approach is design/build (D/B) or design/assist (D/A), MetroPower will be able to support our clients with Branch 17’s professional engineering services that will leverage our value through design services, constructability reviews, quality assurance, final cost and schedule. With professional engineering licenses currently in 22 states, MetroPower will be able to support our clients almost anywhere.

Since joining MetroPower in 2005, Jeff Cohen, P.E., has primarily focused on the development of design/build opportunities in the Federal market.  The success of the Federal department and Jeff’s efforts were crucial in the decision to broaden our capabilities and support the other companies within PPC Partners.

Professional engineering services through Branch 17 will include:

  •   Estimating support for D/B or D/A projects
  •   Schematic drawings
  •   Design development drawings
  •   Construction documents (permittable)
  •   Project specifications
  •   Engineering decisions
  •   Contract administration (QA/QC)

  •   Appliance/equipment load calcs
  •   Motor load calcs
  •   Distribution equipment and feeders
  •   Lightning protection design and assessment

Our ability to provide these professional engineering services from project inception throughout the life of an owner’s facility will create lasting relationships with our clients and long-term success for MetroPower and PPC Partners. We’re excited to share this news about Branch 17 and look forward to providing single-source professional engineering services to our clients!
