MetroPower Partners with Robins & Morton on Huntsville Healthcare Project

MetroPower Atlanta continues our success in the healthcare industry, working with construction firm Robins & Morton on the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of North Alabama in Huntsville, AL.

The project is a relocation of the current Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital to a new site at the intersection of U.S. 72 and Moores Mill Road. The 76,000-square-foot facility will include 82 patient rooms, an on-site therapy gym, a cafeteria, and office space.

“We are very pleased to take on this healthcare project as MetroPower has done several others, including two out of Branch 8,” says Tyler Cobb, project manager. “MetroPower has a great relationship with Robins & Morton, and we are looking forward to working with them again to deliver a successful project for their team and Encompass Health.”

MetroPower will be installing an extensive amount of underground electrical for the hospital, utilizing the benefits of prefabrication and our Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team to complete this project within a 10-month timeframe. MetroPower will heavily depend on our VDC team to create models, prefabrication details and installation drawings to use in the field through Revit and Navisworks. They will engineer, detail and construct prefabricated assemblies for the underground, overhead and in-wall rough-in for the project.

“Due to the schedule constraints and complexity of the project, MetroPower is committed to delivering a quality product on time” says Tyler Cobb.

MetroPower’s relationship with Robins & Morton, including the experience with Encompass Healthcare projects, helps position us for continued success as we expand into the Huntsville market. The Atlanta Healthcare Division Manager, Dantaveous Baldwin, has worked closely with Robins & Morton’s management team on both the new Encompass Health Forsyth County and the recent expansion at the Newnan Encompass Health. Myron Johnson, Superintendent, has been with MetroPower for more than 20 years, managed the Encompass Newnan expansion and has a strong relationship with the Robins & Morton team.
