Atlanta, GA – On Friday, July 9 the IEC Atlanta Chapter held its Annual Apprenticeship
Graduation Ceremonies, at which time the 2010 Safety Awards were announced. In the company category for more than 70 employees, Metropower, Inc. was chosen as the winner for the 2010 Safety Award.
Accepting the award for Metropower, Inc. was Workforce Development Manager, Tony Varamo. To be considered for the safety award companies were required to complete an application which included detailed statistical information on safety records, as well as make a presentation to a panel of judges that included local OSHA Compliance Officers. This is the first year the IEC Atlanta Chapter has had the safety awards program.
Known for its high quality training programs, IEC provides electrical apprenticeship training, as well as continuing education training across the state. Other services include legislative advocacy on the state and national levels, networking opportunities with industry professionals and other business support services to help independent electrical contractors be successful. IEC Atlanta provides services and support to the Atlanta-Metro area and is part of the National IEC, which has 75 chapters and 3000 members nationwide.
