- RAFB Building 59, Paint / De-paint
Hangar
Warner Robins Air Force
Base, GA
A $70,000,000 design build project for De-painting
and painting of C-5 and C-17 aircraft. Smaller
aircraft and parts are also done in a smaller detached
facility. The control of air is the major
function of the equipment in this building. The
air has to be clean for painting and must be moving
to collect contaminants in a massive filtration
system. Most of the hangar area is Class
1, Div. 1, and required numerous explosion proof
receptacles of various amperage and voltage along
with 400hz convertors. This project
was continually changing in scope and required
close contact with the engineering firm and the
Air Force to maintain the construction schedule. |
