The Importance of Charitable Giving in 2020

One of the core values of PPC Partners is the Power to Serve. We are proud to donate time and funding to causes our employees care about through the PPC Foundation. In 2020, MetroPower donated more than $318,250 to 116 deserving charities.

Given the overwhelming impact of the coronavirus pandemic on non-profit organizations last year, MetroPower directed our charitable contributions to some of the hardest hit sectors such as food banks and the arts. We donated a truck to Loaves & Fishes Ministry of Macon, a local food bank, and nearly doubled our funding for arts organizations.

We also doubled our gift to Angel Flight Soars in 2020. Typically, this volunteer pilot organization provides free air transportation for people who need lifesaving medical treatment, but lack the means. In addition to these services, Angel Flight Soars transported COVID-19 tests early in the pandemic from hospitals in central and south Georgia to laboratories in Charlotte and Nashville, thereby decreasing turnaround time for recovery results.
